You’re welcome to spend your time foraging around the map to find natural resources, spend days on end fishing for that special type of fish, or spelunk your way to the bottom of the massive and incredibly dangerous cave, all the while collecting that precious ore to upgrade your tools. You need to keep your eyes peeled for the change of the season as your crops will wilt if it is not their season. This also helps you unlock new needed crafting recipes.Īs the seasons change they bring with them new challenges and different opportunities in regard to how you care for your crops and animals. As you do more of certain things, your skill in those areas will increase and you will become better at certain tasks. You also have the opportunity to level up skills. There is nothing more frustrating than having an immense amount of things to carry around, but a lack of space. Some of the most fundamental pieces of the game include things such as maintaining your energy meter to avoid getting too tired and fainting, and increasing inventory space. For the most part the game allows you to do whatever you want, while also presenting you with an endless amount of possibilities.

From caving to fishing, it is all more enjoyable together.
We have spent countless hours working together to grow our farm and complete all the quests. While I tend to get bored of playing an endless sandbox on my own the opportunity to play on the couch with my wife is a no brainer.

In January 2021 the game received a massive update that added split screen functionality, and for us this is the Real MVP. We have yet to tire of the game and hope that you will enjoy it as well. Stardew Valley offers an insane amount of value for its low price. We have honestly played this game for entire days without any desire to stop. Nintendo’s portable 3DS has been a successful platform for several other farming games, like Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and Rune Factory. In addition to getting a jump on other consoles to experience the multiplayer features, Nintendo Switch players are also the first to enjoy Stardew Valley on a portable device. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles are also getting the update after it hits the Nintendo Switch. A beta test is expected to take place sometime before the end of the year via Steam.

Players on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux can look forward to patch 1.3 dropping in early 2018. Couch co-op and PVP are not part of the plan, but the development team is working on making player-to-player marriages a reality. As previously reported by Inquisitr, patch 1.3 brings significant changes that include the ability for up to four online friends to farm together. Nintendo announced in February that Stardew Valley’s new multiplayer update would be playable on consoles for the first time on the Nintendo Switch. Players can pick up Stardew Valley upon its release for $14.99 USD. Stardew Valley finally has a confirmed release date for the Nintendo Switch edition just a few days before its launch on Thursday, October 5.Īlthough the game was expected to hit Nintendo’s newest console sometime before the end of the year, a firm release date had not been solidified until a recent announcement made by the game’s creator.
